Movies in the Park
Various City of Berkeley Parks
Select Fridays, June 12 - August 21, 2026
Join the City of Berkeley for family-friendly movie nights under the stars. Enjoy free movie screenings on a large 20' x 12' inflatable screen on select Fridays at our beautiful parks, which we take great pride in maintaining for events like these.
Don’t forget to bring blankets, sleeping bags, or low-back beach chairs that are no taller than 9 inches to ensure everyone has a clear view of the screen. A flashlight or headlamp can also be useful for walking out at the end of the night. Please remember that this is an alcohol- and drug-free event. Dogs are to remain on a leash at all times. We look forward to seeing you there!
Community Carnival & Picnic
Wednesday, July 1, 2026 | 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Grove Park | 1730 Oregon Street
Bring your kids out to the City of Berkeley’s annual carnival and community picnic and enjoy a day of food, games, and fun with fellow Berkeleyans.
Children are invited to jump on giant inflatables, scramble through an obstacle course, or play a variety of sports. We’ll also have carnival games, a petting zoo with bunnies and goats, and a tot-zone for our littlest ones.
Have lunch on us! Fuddruckers will serve hotdogs and burgers with chips for a picnic meal. We’ll also have popcorn and cotton candy. Register online to shorten time to enter the carnival. Get in early, as we anticipate some lines.
Beautify Berkeley Volunteer Day
Saturday, July 18, 2026 | 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Ohlone Park | Hearst and Mcgee
Join the City of Berkeley for the first annual Beautify Berkeley volunteer event - a day of community fellowship and an opportunity to assist the Parks Division with a volunteer painting project.
Together, we will refresh and bring new life to the entire fence along Hearst Street with a fresh coat of paint.
The project will cover the full length of wooden fencing along Hearst Street at Ohlone Park, from Martin Luther King Jr. Way to Sacramento Avenue.
Please come prepared to paint and dress appropriately.
